Audi E Concept 2025: The Bold Electric Vision of Audi’s Future

The Audi E Concept is a fully electric sportsback vehicle, the first model of Audi’s new China-specific sub-brand, also called “Audi”. It showcases a new design language and advanced technological features tailored for the Chinese market.

The concept previews three production models, which will be launched from mid-2025.

Audi has partnered with SAIC Motor in China, resulting in a sub-brand, unimaginatively named “AUDI”.

Alongside this new electric sub-brand, the Ingolstadt-based carmaker has previewed an all-electric concept, (unimaginatively) named the “E Concept.

While the E Concept has some impressive numbers and previews what we should expect from the future cars of this China-specific sub-brand, the talking point about this electric crossover is that it doesn’t wear Audi’s iconic ‘Four Rings’ logo.

  • 10 minutes of fast charging can deliver a range of over 370km
  • Dual motors offer 760bhp and 800Nm
  • Does not have the ‘four rings’ logo

Feature and Tech:

The Audi E Concept, unlike current Audi models, abandons the brand’s traditional four-ring emblem, indicating a new direction in both design and branding.

At 4,870 mm long, 1,990 mm wide, and 1,460 mm high, the car is slightly larger than the recently launched Audi A5 Avant.

The longer wheelbase of 2,950 mm is claimed to offer the Audi E Concept more interior space and comfort than its internal combustion engine sibling.

Design and Style:

The styling of the new Audi model combines dazzling LED light designs with clean and largely unadorned surfaces, giving the e a more monolithic look than recent models from the main Audi brand.

Based on the new advanced digitized platform developed by Audi and SAIC, it features an 800-volt electric architecture and a dual electric motor drive train that delivers a combined 754 hp.

With quattro four-wheel drive and torque vectoring capability, Audi claims to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 3.6 seconds.

The 100kWh battery also gives the Audi e a range of over 700km under China’s CLTC testing standards. Details about the charging rate have not been revealed yet, however.

But the first model from the Audi sub-brand is claimed to replenish 300 km of electric energy reserves in 10 minutes on a high-power DC charger.

Other features being promoted for the upcoming production version of the new estate model are four-wheel steering and air suspension.

Inside the Audi E, there is a single free-standing curved touchscreen digital display and seating for four in separate front and rear seats.

Reflecting its luxury positioning, its interiors feature a combination of natural fibers and wooden trims.

Engine and Performance:

The Audi E Concept, designed for a new sub-brand focused on China, features a powerful dual-motor setup producing 570 kW (764 horsepower) and 800 Nm of torque.

This, combined with Audi’s signature Quattro all-wheel drive, accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds.

It has an 800-volt electrical setup, which allows for faster charging, and is claimed to offer a range of 370 km in just 10 minutes.

The concept also features a 100 kWh battery that offers a range of over 700 km (CLTC cycle).

Key Performance Details:

  • Dual-motor setup: Provides all-wheel drive and significant power output.
  • Quattro all-wheel drive: Ensures optimum traction and handling.
  • 0-100 km/h: Achieved in 3.6 seconds.800-volt architecture: Enables ultra-fast charging.
  • 100 kWh batteries: Offers a range of over 700 km (CLTC).
  • Rapid charging: 370 km range in 10 minutes.

Price and Variants:

“Audi e Concept” refers to a new electric crossover concept introduced by Audi in partnership with SAIC Motor in China.

It will be positioned alongside the existing Audi e-tron, not to be confused with the GT. This China-specific sub-brand, renamed “Audi”, will focus on electric vehicles.

The E Concept, though not wearing the traditional Audi rings, showcases a futuristic design and advanced technology, with a production-ready interior complete with a large touch screen.
